The room was clean and cosy with a kettle, and the location is fantastic being close to a subway stop.

The staff was super friendly. the location was the best possible, a short walk to main areas, shopping malls, and the city center.

It is a very nice small hotel. The price is good included breakfast and free internet.Very good breakfast in a nice, bright but very small breakfast room surrounding by windows. The problem is that you can not walk to the center. It is quite far and the hotel is not very central. There is the University subway station very near and the center is 3 stops. There is no lobby.

I would prefer separate bottles of shampoo and body shower and even a body lotion.

The rooms were very nice and clean. The floors were heated (it was extremely cold in Germany when I stayed). The bed was very comfortable. It was relatively quiet as it is a side street off a busier Segerostrasse. 5 minute walk to the Uni Essen U-station. One train stop (or 10-minute walk) to the Limbecker Platz Mall. Good breakfast buffet. Free internet. And best of all, the staff/owners were very friendly, and can speak English if your German is nicht sehr gut.
